HAND REFLEXOLOGY

Hand reflexology is a great alternative especially if you don't like your feet being touched. It has the same principle as clinical foot reflexology but is completed on your hands. It is equally as relaxing and yields similar results.

FERTILITY AND MATERNITY REFLEXOLOGY

Fertility and maternity is a specialized area of reflexology that I have studied.

Fertility Reflexology enhances your chances of conceiving naturally; it also helps you safely cope with IVF/ART/GIFT. Regular treatment ensures your body is in optimum condition for encouraging conception and implantation, helping to restore regularity to menstrual cycles and greater hormonal balance.

Sub-fertility is rarely only simply a physical issue: stress, emotions, fear, anxiety, trauma and beliefs all play a vital role in facilitating conception. Fertility reflexology is a calm, relaxing holistic therapy that aims to alleviate tensions and promote relaxation. Specific work on precise points of the feet promotes better hormonal balance, reducing adrenalin and cortisol levels in the blood.

At the end of pregnancy reflexology can also be used to help stimulate labour*

*induction reflexology will only be carried out after week 40 in your pregnancy without consent of your midwife.

PALLATIVE CARE

Reflexology can have may positive effects for anyone who finds themselves in palliative care and also there carers. Here are just a few on the benefits.

  • Reflexology can help improve quality of life by supporting emotional well-being and often helping to reduce the side-effects of some of the medical treatments

  • Reflexology can help to relieve anxiety, stress and depression, which are symptoms that may often occur following a diagnosis of cancer, both for the patient and their carers

  • Reflexology can help improve sleep

  • Research has shown reflexology can help to reduce pain, therefore may reduce the amount of pain relief required, thus also reducing side-effects of higher levels of painkillers.

  • Reflexology may help reduce oedema in the ankles

  • Reflexology is non-invasive, it does not require the patient to remove lots of clothing and does not invade personal space

  • Reflexology can boost energy levels and improve a sense of well being.
